Why do I blog? Because you’re reading. Welcome back to Apotize.com, back to an “Uncategorized” article.

What is Apotize? Apotizing is the act of change towards civilization. No I’m just kidding, I just like to talk a lot. And change society. And teach psychology. And, yeah, I just like to talk a lot.

I actually wrote this article to thank you, all readers, for all of the comments, “likes” and link-sharings. Knowing there are readers is enough of a reason for me to keep writing. I recently made a facebook fan page for Apotize.com, so please check that out =)
I’ve been getting thousands of page views every night I post an article, and it keeps getting higher and higher, so I just wanted to thank who ever has been telling friends, or sharing my links on your facebooks or websites. So, thank you for that. If you’d like to support a little more, you may even suggest 35 friends at a time on facebook. “Suggest to Friends” right under the picture in the fan page, and select 35 people at a time, and suggest them. If you do more than 35 people, chances are it will not go through but tell you it did. You have to do 35, send, then go back and do another 35 (if you wish). Thank you thank you thank you =)

Miles Ahead: The Early Start

Dear high school students,
Freshies, sophomores, and juniors generally, seniors specifically,
I have a word I need to share with you.

I used to be the kid that planned his next project out with details to the point of perfectionism. I sat down during lunch and wrote down my ideas, and the next day I made the ideas more specific, then got into details, and sooner than later, I realized the year was over, and I had done nothing in that school but plan projects. During my senior year, I decided to work on all of these projects, and put them together. I did. I built a fan base of 35,000 myspace fan list. With that being said, I got two directors (Hollywood) to work with. [Names cannot be mentioned due to legal papers insisting so]. The last two lines were not brought up for bragging, for if it was, I would’ve told you a long time ago already. I want you to know how big one can be without the need to be working under somebody or the feel to be signed under a specific record label for all these musicians out there looking to get signed.

During my senior year, I became active in the Art Academy I was referred to by my Photography teacher, Ms. Alison Stewart. I joined the Art Academy during the last two months of my senior year, and through out the work I put in, I gathered two different $500 awards and a medal for outstanding achievements.

The point here is that you need to get your act together before you look into all of these companies you want to work with, or the classes you want to take in college. I want you to take all of these alternative classes and join these clubs. You might find your real passion. Not everyone is great at what they do, but some people turn out to be amazing because of loving that path they’ve taken.

If you enjoy taking care of the sick, then go ahead and major in any medical related field. You’ll enjoy life. However, if you be a doctor because dad or mom wanted you to, there’s a problem. Dad and mom will destroy your future life without knowing it. If you want to become an artist, do your thing. Realize that you need your connections around you. A degree will take you no where if you don’t have skill nor determination. Yes, both at the same time. Find your passion and stick to it. People have made millions off of selling the most little, stupid ideas I’ve ever heard of, but hey, with enough passion, they make more than you and I and our families make, combined.

Take an early step. Do your work but stay social. You need your people. Don’t get signed too early. Don’t get hooked to a company too early. Start your own path and if someone decides to pick you up, that’s when you know you made it for your self not for impressing anybody else.

Enjoy life, and let your self enjoy it as well. Your brain needs its fun too, not only your body.
Go do your fun projects and make money while you’re at it. You’re gonna be bigger than ever, independently.

Go join these groups, have a fun class in your schedule, and aim towards success. It’s never too early. Never too early.

Hamburgers Killing Me

It’s been a while since the last time I ate a burger. About 6 days ago, I started a diet for a month. A NO-HAMBURGERS diet. How has it been for me ? Not that great.

I used to eat a lot of burgers, two or three at a time on a regular meal; 4 or 5 if I skipped lunch and the burgers were my lunch instead. After taking pride of the 4 burgers that I sat down and finished at In N Out or Habit, I randomly made the choice to quit burgers for a month. May 17th, 2010 marked the first day. My daily burger eating habit (oh look, what a coincidence, it’s just like the restaurant’s name .. SUBLIMINAL MESSAGES) got destroyed.
Recently, I’ve noticed that I would get depressed if I didn’t eat at least two burgers in a day. I thought to my self, what if I am addicted? Then laughed at it. Soon enough, I decided to take a serious step towards it and cut the bullshit. I can’t and shouldn’t lie to my self anymore. I am addicted. Four burgers a day is addiction.

I sat down and planned this one month long, burger-free, diet I started. That night, I watched Super Size Me. Not the best documentary you’d want to watch if you’re addicted. Seeing him eat the burgers, despite throwing up afterwards, still made me crave a juicy burger. I couldn’t do anything about it but shut up and take it. I got my self into this, and I’m going all in.

Now that almost a week has passed, I can’t lie and say that I haven’t craved a burger, but I want to step the game up a little bit. Another poisonous thing I’m addicted to is soda. Pepsi, Coke, Dr. Pepper, Mountain Dew, you name it … So, after further planning, I decided to start a one month long NO-SODA diet starting today, May 23rd, 2010.

May 17 – June 17 : NO BURGERS
May 23 – June 23 : NO SODA

If I can pull these two processes off, I will stretch them out to even further final dates. I love these two, but I understand that they are poisonous not only to me but to many. If you’re up for the task, try it your self. Do a weekly diet. Jump onto the month.

Let’s do this.

As I got into the shower, I noticed two of my shampoo bottles, one being an almost-empty bottle, and a full new one. I decided to pop the empty bottle open and fill it with water, close the cap, shake the bottle, and open the cap and squirt left and right (that’s what she said). After 20 seconds of bubbles and soap floating all over the shower, I paused for a second only to realize I’m 20 years old.
I proceeded with cleaning the walls.

Cheapness and Business

That title, to me, is an oxymoron. Hi, welcome back to Apotize.com. Today, I’d like to talk about cheap people who’d like to do business with their clients, or cheap clients trying to work with you, the business owner.
First things first, marketing is one of the most important things in business. If your company is not being advertised, it is of no use. Whether by word of mouth, or online networking and advertisement, marketing has proven it’s worth for many many years now. Some clients are just too cheap to pay to have a photoshoot or a video for them, so after showing interest and hearing the prices, they flip sides. They don’t want to promote their business anymore. They suddenly have other things to take care of.

Recently, a client asked for an introduction video for a performance entrance. After taking a week to work out on the price (which I reduced about 50% off), we set a date. After everything became official, the night before the video shoot I got a call from the client informing me about canceling the project because he was “going to be out of town”.
Oh, you think that’s funny ? This is where the fun begins:
A day later, the client makes his own home made video, edited very poorly, with no art direction, posted on facebook. The client had made his own video just to save the couple of dollars which were planned to boost the client’s stamina up.

Things like this rarely happen but they do. And to me, they’re funny. You just get to sit back and watch as you see the client kill his/her own business in front of you while trying to do what you do but failing at it.
SURPRISE !

An Arabic saying I always remember is “Give the bread to the cook, even if he eats half of it.” Meaning, as long as you put it in the right hand, no matter how much you get charged, the outcome is guaranteed. So I’d like to say, good luck, and I really, really hope you feel the embarrassment of your actions, and more importantly, your video.

Bye ;)
