So I’ve noticed how people buy things here in the U.S. Not just skim through, or take a look, but we buy things. We like to buy the most usable items…. NOT.. and just throw them in the house, and whenever we need them, we hysterically exclaim “I have it but I can’t find it.”
Today, I would like to talk about money management. I want to talk about the fact that people spend so much money that they don’t have because of all this credit card dillema, and loans.
Why do we buy things we don’t need ?
Let me tell you this. I was told that, we, Americans, like to buy things we don’t need, with money we don’t have, to impress people we don’t know. Is there any more accurate quote than this ? I doubt it. This nails it. We’re such a jealous society that copies each other and have no originality anymore. If the person with originality has class and power, their originality becomes imitated. On the other hand, if it’s the originality of a person with no higher class or business value, he or she are called names and kicked out of the society.
We buy things to fulfill a satisfaction need. We feel down, so we eat, or shop. We eat or shop. That is all we do when we are down. But we never realize that the more ‘down’ we feel, the more we shop, thus, the MORE ‘down’ we feel the next time something happens ! Skimming becomes not so satisfactory, so buying things starts working. Shopping to the point where you have no cash on you, and you load up your credit card, you have nothing but headache because of your debts, and HOW DO YOU FORGET AND COVER YOUR DEBT THOUGHTS ? BY SHOPPING FOR EVEN MORE ITEMS !!!!!
There is temporary happiness, and perminant happiness. We do things in a certain way because we are designed to make our selves happy, but due to work and school and not being able to see our friends, that stress load gets higher. We look for little things that make us temporarily happy. We shop. We buy things we don’t really need, but desire or want. We start buying things because we could. Instead of a huge family update, like having a child, or getting married type of joy, these little things are what keep us alive when these big events aren’t around. It’s depression.
We have to work on our problems. We need to secure and use money effectively. If you have a dollar today, you probably won’t tomorrow. Save it. After years, you will need the money saved. The things you would’ve bought with that money could worth nothing but a little emotion attached self rightiousness. All missing would be the cash. Shop when you do something you set as a goal and achieve that goal, and make your self proud. That’s when you should get your self a gift or two. Maybe three, since you deserve it, not because you’re so depressed you just need to cover your depression for a day or two rather than solving the real problem.
Stay real, work hard, play harder,
Much love to everyone, thanks for reading, please share.
